We can never go back again, that much is certain. The past is still too close to us. Exhibition at Forest Park Hotel, organized by CutContemporary Fine Arts Lab
Klitsa Antoniou’s site-specific installation consists of tens of white plates cut in half and placed in an unorthodox way on a wooden table. Are we looking at the leftovers of a half-finished human activity? Or is it that the human presence alluded to here never materializes? The artist, by creating an ambiguous and ambivalent atmosphere, ventures into the deficiency and incommensurability of human relations. This artwork by Antoniou may also be seen as an archaeology of human memories and emotions; of memories and feelings interwoven with their tangible remains.
